Our companion animal clinic is located in Gander, NL. It was founded by Dr. Douglas Tweedie and we have been in operation for over 30 years. Dr. Bernice Heffern joined Gander Veterinary Clinic in 1991 after graduating from Atlantic Veterinary College, U.P.E.I. Dr. Heffern took ownership of the clinic in 2008, moving the practice to its current location in 2009. Since then, the clinic has continued to grow with an expansion of services and products available to our clients. We have a team of compassionate team members that work hard to meet the unique medical needs of the pets visiting us. From surgical and medical services to dental care and pet wellness, we offer a range of services for dogs and cats.

“The Rock” as our city is affectionately called, is home to more than brightly coloured homes, rocky shores, and a unique dialect. Gander was once known as the “Crossroads of the World” because our airport was once the largest on earth. Maybe you've heard of our town from the Tony-award-winning Broadway musical, Come From Away. Our hospitality during September 11, 2001, wasn't a one-off occurrence. We continue to welcome our doors to strangers and residents alike. We are conveniently located amid an abundance of wildlife. You're always welcome to enjoy the best nature has to offer with biking, hiking, camping, and canoeing.
